Hello Again,
I need some information and kind-of fast if possible. Another one of our females did get pregnant and she had one baby this morning, however since this is all new to us, WHAT DO WE DO? I am suppose to go off with my son today and my husband is working but we aren't sure if we should just leave her here alone or me stay home..
The other thing, we have Molli in a swimming pool with puppy pads and a old blanket and we have a gate around that, so where shall we put her food at so that the pup doesn't accidentally get into it..
The stupid question is: how in the world do you tell if its a boy or a girl( since we have never done this before) I picked the pup up and looked but all I see are what appears to be, forgive me for saying this can't think of any other way to say it; balls... but then my husband said are you sure it could be a girl...
I am sure I have more questions but for now I will say Thank you for any and all that answer...
We need some advice and surely need some help!!!
Oh by the way Mom and Baby are doing wonderful, mom seems to be a good mother ( thus far)....
Thanks again,

Hi Krista,
I wasn't planning to log in this morning, but I guess you need help.
You have a little time, right now, so you maybe shouldn't have to worry about your new little puppy. It would be a good idea to figure out another set-up, other than that pool, so you could move the water bowl farther away from mom/baby. If any part of a blanket or puppy pad were to get into that bowl, it could "pull water out", get drenched, and possibly shill the puppy. It is recommended that you add extra heat for the first 3 weeks cuz a puppy's "internal little heater" doesn't start working until after that period. I use a 60 watt (regular) light bulb, hung about 1 1/2 to 2 feet above. I get those metal reflector thingies they use for baby chicks cuz it protects the bulb from the mom. Be sure "mom" can't get to the cord.
OK, ha, you don't look for "balls"! The best way is to look for a "bump" or "no bump" on the puppy's tummy. If there is a cute little bump, it's a boy. If the tummy is just smooth, with no bump, it's a girl!
My suggestion is to go to Lowchens---my "bestest" place for all my doggie questions. Scroll down to the Whelping section. Lots of info there!

Have fun with your new baby, whatever it is!!!!
